The Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels
The Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels (RSB) is an international initiative coordinated by the Energy Center at EPFL in Lausanne that brings together farmers, companies, non-governmental organizations, experts, governments, and inter-governmental agencies concerned with ensuring the sustainability of biofuels production and processing. Participation in the RSB is open to any organization working in a field relevant to biofuels sustainability. See our membership page for more information on how to join!
The RSB has developed a third-party certification system for biofuels sustainability standards, encompassing environmental, social and economic principles and criteria through an open, transparent, and multi-stakeholder process. The RSB Tool (Beta Version) will take you through essential steps of the certification process (self risk-assessment, self-evaluation & GHG calculation). Applications for certification have to be transmitted to RSB Services.

- New! The Steering Board of the RSB informs its Chamber members, partners and other RSB stakeholders that an administrative reorganization has taken place at the EPFL Energy Center, the host organization of the RSB, which led to a change in management within the RSB Secretariat. We congratulate Sébastien Haye for his appointment as Acting Executive Secretary and regret to see Alwin Kopse leave his function. The Steering Board thanks Alwin for his strong leadership and the great progress of the RSB during his term, and expresses its confidence that the RSB Secretariat will continue to maintain its momentum under Sébastien's guidance.
